Family owned, the building, located in the village of Scalby, North Yorkshire, can trace its heritage back to 1899.
Formerly a pub with staff accommodation above, we were commissioned by Qdos Entertainment to reconfigure the space into 8 luxury ensuite bedrooms, which included incorporating an external roof storage area into the main hotel space.
Working with the architect and client team, the original old style pub interior was transformed into a stylish country inn with rooms offering a premium dining experience to both individuals and a snug for private parties; James McKenzie, Chef/Proprietor of the famous Pipe & Glass Inn, created the menu.
The overall design style is country comfort – being a blend of polar opposites – rustic at one end, with a slight London edge at the other.
Our scope included building layout, bespoke joinery, ensuite arrangements and full specification, lighting design plus all soft furnishings, window treatments, bespoke headboards and custom designed hospitality units for each room containing tea/coffee making, fridge and television.
